Penrhyn Pond. We spotted a great variety of birds among the white gums, Eucalyptus viminalis. |
We found these three animals under a single piece of bark:
Jumping spider Plexippus
valipus
(Salticidae), |
Moth, 10mm long.
Millipede Tasmaniosoma sp, 20mm long. |
Female flowers of Allocasuarina sp., |
Styphelia adscendens. |

'Shield spider' or 'badge huntsman', Neosparassus punctatus (Heteropodidae). 22mm body length. |
All eyes were watching the camera! A glimpse of the distinctive 'shield' under its abdomen.
